Chameleo family Christmas tree | Decorate a Bauble

Hi …I’m Ali Hargreaves and I’m the tutor for Ready, Steady, Paint!

Our Chameleo family need a little help decorating their Christmas tree, can you help me? Let’s decorate some baubles so that their tree looks nice and colourful!

You can either download a bauble template here, or you can draw your own bauble for decoration.
Choose your art materials. You can use any materials you like, from paints to pencils and glitter pens to sequins.

Don’t forget, if you are already a member of Ready Steady Paint you will have lots to choose from……Why not use your metallic pens with Brusho to add some sparkle?

Add a pattern
Now draw a pattern on your bauble. You could use spots, stripes, flowers, stars, hearts, swirls…anything you like. Use your imagination!

Think about your colour scheme
Now for the fun part, let’s paint! You might want to think about a colour scheme. I have chosen to use paint, Brusho and glitter to decorate my bauble.

Start adding colour
You can do whatever you like here. I started by sprinkling Brusho onto the surface of the card before adding water and blending. I have then added watercolour paint to fill in the swirls.

Add some glitter for festive sparkle
While the paint was still wet, I added some glitter, but you can always add this at a later date with glue instead.

Finishing touches
Make sure you draw on some string to your bauble so that we can hang your decoration on the Chameleo family Christmas tree.

Take a photo of your finished bauble and on Instagram, tag us in with #RSPTree or share it in our comments section on Facebook so that we decorate the Chameleo family Christmas tree and share your creations on stories. We can’t wait to see what you have created!
